Dead Reckoning

Some maps are worth more than the land they chart. This one was worth killing for.
When rare-book dealer Cecily Mallory buys a faded 1743 coastal survey from antiquarian Gerald Soane, it's just another lovely old document for the shelves of The Margin Note. Three days later Gerald is dead beneath the collapsed shelving of his own storage unit — and the coroner calls it an accident.
Cecily knows better. The moment her bare hands touched that survey, she felt two men arguing over a single boundary line inked three centuries ago — a line that still decides who owns a fortune in Bellhaven's harbour-front. Gerald didn't die because a shelf gave way. He died because of where that line falls.
But an echo isn't evidence. To catch a killer, Cecily will have to prove on paper what she already knows in her hands — before the next “accident” has her name on it.
Dead Reckoning is the second Margin Note Mystery: a cosy, atmospheric whodunit with a paranormal twist — old books, buried history, a clever amateur sleuth, and a cat with secrets of his own.
